Yuzhoupliosaurus was a plesiosaur, a type of marine reptile. It was not a dinosaur, though it coexisted with many dinosaurs. Yuzhoupliosaurus lived during the Mid Jurassic. The first Yuzhoupliosaurus fossil was discovered in 1985.
